the best for the 06 is to trade it in for the 08 that comes with a slipper clutch from the factory.

Default RE: slipper clutch?

From a retail website: "A slipper clutch (also known as a back-torque limiter) is a specialized clutch developed for performance oriented motorcycles to mitigate the effects of engine-braking when riders decelerate as they enter corners. The engine braking forces in conventional clutches will normally be transmitted back along the drivetrain, causing the rear wheel to hop, chatter or lose traction.

[ul][*]Designed to partially disengage or "slip" when the rear wheel tries to drive the engine faster than it would run under its own power. This is especially noted on larger displacement four-stroke engines, which have greater engine braking than their two-stroke or smaller displacement counterparts. [*]Eliminates this extra loading on the rear suspension giving riders a more predictable ride and minimize the risk of over-reving the engine during downshifts. [*]Can also prevent a catastrophic rear wheel lockup in case of engine seizure or transmission failure." [/ul]

STM and Yoyodyne are the two most well known manufacturers of slipper clutches. A quick googling shows that they are available for between $750-$820 before tax and shipping.

Veryfew streetriders actuallyneed a slipper clutch, odds are you'll be fine without it. If you find that your rear tire is moving around on downshifts, then it may help.

Are you going to be tracking the bike? If not then dont bother. Just blip the throttle on down shifts.

If you have money to burn then go for it but there are other mods that will be more helpful to you. I will admit having a slipper would make coming into a turn much easier.

I'd like to have one, I tend to down shift hard when I'm feeling aggressive. Sometimes it gets a lil squirlly feeling especially if I'm in a turn, even a slight one. One of these days I'll upgrade to a newer model and see if it helps....
