Default Removing The Passenger Rear Sets

I don't know if it's been covered here...if so, feel free to link any prior forum activity on the subject. I have a 2004 1000RR and want to remove the passenger rear sets. But part of the rightside bracket is a tapped mount for the top heat shield bolt. Anybody know if there's a pre-fab aftermarket mount you can buy, or am I just looking at custom machining?

Thanks
The FNG (Fuggin New Guy)

No, your gonna have to make on. It's not that hard really, just get a small strip of aluminum, available at lowe's, bend, drill, and tap or use a nut. OR... you could do what I did and just scrap the heat shield all together....looks pretty tuff ! Good luck to ya either way man!

just do what i did and buy a rearset off ebay. then cut off the piece that attaches the heat sheild. i cut the other peg leg also to keep the little rear resovior guard in place. i also painted them flat balck so they match the frame. easiest way i could think of to keep the sheild on. if i knew how to attach a pic i would

mrgrn of 1000rr.net makes a carbon fiber bracket to do just what you are looking for

or go to www.hooliganbiketech.net and look up the brake upgrade how to. It will show you how to make the bracket yourself
