Default My CBR1000RR-05

Thought i may as well start a thread about my blade as it's gonna be modified (to an extent) and i can share what i do with you guys on here,
so here goes...

About two months ago i bought an almost mint 100% standard CBR1000RR-05, here it is outside the shop waiting for me when i went to pick it up.

The first thing i did (that same week) was buy a R&G tail tidy kit, mini carbon rear indicators and a small numberplate.

Then the next thing i did was ditch the clear screen and replace it with a dark smoked screen and had some stickers made up with my name on them (Rossi style), probably not to everyones taste but i'm the one riding it

Then to compliment the dark screen i got some dark smoked headlight protectors

Now i'm upto replacing the origional black decals with gold decals, like a fool in my haste to get them i ordered the wrong size (only about 1" bigger), i just put one side on to see what it looks like but it's coming off and being replaced with the right size but you got the idea what they look like

Gonna put (the right size) gold tank decals on tomorrow so i'll take some pics and post em up tomorrow night.

Cheers.

They are carbon fiber frame protectors/covers, they encase the main body of the frame so it looks like the frame is made out of carbon. Hopefully i'll have them fitted this weekend and i'll post up a picture.

Got em off eBay uk, there's quite a few companies that sell them, i use a company called evlplastic$, delivered to your door for about £20.

What a right royal pain in the butt they was to fit, i didn't realize the water/coolant pipes and a thick part of the loomb would be in the way on the right hand side and i had to cut/modify the carbon on the left hand side because there wasn't a hole for the fairing bracket?!?

I got so involved with cutting and shaping the left hand panel that i forgot to take any pictures
In the end it all went well tho, really pleased with the out come, hopefully got some more carbon goodies turning up this week so another weekend of tinkering to come. Here's how it looks now it's back together.

Once i manage to get/afford the rest of the carbon parts it should all match together nicely, i think the carbon frame looks a bit out of place at the moment but not for long.

They was a right ****** to fit, if i didn't have a bench grinder set up in my garage i would have sent them back, i had to fart **** about for ages to get them to fit nice and flush. Suppose that's the price you have to pay when you get cheaper ones. I'm happy with the outcome tho, it's gradually coming together.
