Default lagging in motor

I was wondering if putting a power command installed on my bike if it would help stop the lagging i get when i first take off in 1st or when i slow down and rpm is under 3 thousand? I'm using 91 octane or higher.

Some dealers will download a map and install it, but to get the full effecta custom tune is the way to go, can't wait till i can afford to get mine done. But if you are like me and money is a bit of an issue at the moment (you know cause replacing my tires is a bit more important for me right now) you can just try a few different maps till you get one that works for you until such time as you can get it in for a custom map.

check www.hooliganbiketech.net for the flapper mod instructions
or www.rogueracing.org
or www.1000rr.net has a video posted.

there are literally hundred of posts, threads, and how tos on this one.

as far as the dealer loading a map. they loaded a downloaded map from powercommander.com or a zero map that makes no changes at all.

1000rr.net has a lot of maps that you can try that may help as well. mine is on there and has totaly eliminated the lag on the lower end but it requires an atech intake, flapper mod, arata exhaust, and bmc race filters. even then it wont be perfect but it will be close.

thanks baxsom did the flapper mod last night after the red sox blew it. I am from ma. so my days of riding are numbered ,starting to get cold. But as soon as i took the bike for a spin i noticed the difference big difference,i am going to order the power commander monday so as soon as i install it i will let you know. Also will it make a difference if i disconnect the cables to the (EGCV) exhaust gas control valve on the stock exhaust? Really can't afford after market exhaust right now, xmas right around corner w/ 3 kids.
