Hi, I have now done some mods on my 08, just had it on service at the dealers and they put on full race Acrapowich systen and BMC air filter, but they had not got the powercommander in store yet so they delivered the bike back to me without it. Now I wounder, how damaging isthis for the bike with these mods and no mapping?

Might make it run rich ... computer tends to compensate that way. So no damage at all. PC with a good map will make it better all around.

 

I thought it was going to run lean without the PC...

 

The MAP sensor will see an increase and over compensate by adding too much gas. Not really as much of a problem with just a slip on ... but a true full race exhaust will have the stock ECU running things rich.

 

does the 08 have an 02 sensor?

 

i just bought an 06 1k this week and before i picked it up i asked about getting them to put on a power camander before i picked it up......the dealer told me that it wouldnt really have any effect on my bike and prob.would do more harm than good.....said it could void my waranty if i started to doing so many mods.

 

An '06 pretty much has no warranty ... dealer is an idiot as usual. If you have no mods then a PC is not necessary. If you start changing things then you might consider a PC as a mod. Please add in the cost of a decent dyno tune with the PC.

 

the o6 was purchased as a brand new bike...1 yr warranty unlimited miles.wanted a slip on two brothers exhuast but they told me that would void my warranty as well
