Default Headlight question

On the '06 1000rr, I am just curious. For the front headlight, if I need to replace the bulb, can just the bulb be removed or does the unit as a whole have to be removed. The bulb is attached to a two prong connector. Is this a whole unit, or can just the bulb itself be removed?

the bulb can easily be changed by simply peeling the rubber grommet off around back of bulb connections , then pull off connector and behind grommet is a clip which holds bulb in place , unclip an d thats it . then reverse this method using new brighter bulb . ( existing are a bit boring )

I want to get the "white" light bulbs, like the hyper white. What should I get for my bike to use in it. (I just want to replace the bulb, and not get those HID kits or whatever, cause they are really expensive right?)
