CBR 1000RR REAR BRAKE MODS
HI THERE THIS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE USED CBR FORUM AND WHAT A GREAT SITE IT IS. I HAVE JUST TRADED MY 2001 SP1 IN FOR A NEW 1000RR BLADE AND LOVE IT TO BITS. BUT I LIKE TO PERSONALISE MY BIKES TO MY TASTES. HAVING A 25 YEAR ENGINEERING BACKGROUND I OFTEN AMAZE MY BUDDIES WITH WHAT I CAN DO. HOWEVER YOU OFTEN SEE SOMTHING THAT CATCHES YOUR EYE, THE THING THAT HAS GOT ME WAS I SAW A SMALL GREEN PLASTIC TUBE THAT REPLACES THE REAR BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER ALSO THEY SAID THAT IT CAN ATRACT MOISTURE I JUST WONDERED IF THERE IS ANY TRUTH IN THIS I HOPE SOMONE CAN HELP ME. I WILL SEND SOME PICS OF MY BLADE IN SOON.

RE: CBR 1000RR REAR BRAKE MODS
I have gone down this route but after having been out for a run early in the week I have found that the G Craft master cylinder is rubbing agaisnt the swing arm scratching it for about 20-30mm along its travel.
I tried grinding a flat off the bottom of the cylinder but it is still catching on the arm - guess I'll have to file off a bit more. If it continues I think the HRC kit may be my next buy.

Does the HRC kit help performance wise? If so what does it do? I ask because the rear brake on my 06 1000RR feels real spongy compared to the 05 600RR. I am a big believer in using the rear brake and want it to perform as best as possible especially when I get good enough to use the rear brake to help me start the slide in my turns.
What web site are you using to get HRC parts? The only one I know of is not offering 1000RR parts for any model year.

works sweet for me, the rear brake is not designed to grab as hard as the fronts.....that's why you have that spongy feeling. Check your 600rr lever out and see how far it is adjusted for intial engagement. I love the way my lever feels since it dosn't let you get too carried away and the rear. I used to race motocross so too much rear brake can give be BIG problems on the street. As far as where to get the kit, It's from TYGA sports out of Japan. NO U.S. dealer carries this HRC factory part. tyga-performance.com is the site.
