Default Catalytic Converter

I was looking at a service manual for the 08 cbr 1000 and it appears that the cat is located within the actual stock exhaust. If I am looking at this correctly, by removing the stock exhaust and adding a slip-on, wouldn't that negate the need for a full exhaust system? Any thoughts on this?

not necessarily. if there isnt already one out, someone will make a lighter/better header that makes more power

it is almost impossible to make a better header than is already on there. for years now Honda has been making the header out of titanium so you cant really get much lighter than that.
