Alot of people swear higher octane makes their newer vehicles run better. If they have knock sensors, that's partially true. When they run lower octane, motor pings and sensors back timing off. When high octane is used, timing can be advanced and motor runs better. You aren't getting any "more" power, just the power the motor should be making in the first place. If you stick something on or in your bike and you don't have to jet/tune to compensate....it isn't going to make you any more power, period.

Good question.... The manual for my 2008 does not specify beyond "premium unleaded" "pump octane number 91 (or higher)" at least in the couple of places I just looked.

I know it's several months late.... but I just hit up google for the answer to this question and ended up here.

And BTW, 91 PON is the same as 91 AKI.
So it's 91 octane here in the USA.
