where to buy a regulator/rectifier
Hi, having some major frustration with my 1993 cbr900, Can someone pls tell me where I can get a good regulator/rectifier without buying OEM?
I've read somewhere on this forum not to buy OEM and to get a particular brand from a particular place but I cant seem to find the posts...
I've already changed out my stator and battery, when I did this, all seemed to be wonderful...multimeter tests showed 12.2v at rest and 13.5+ at 4000rpm....I was getting no increase in voltage before replacing the stator...
This was all good till the other day when I tested the battery and it was dead, I trickle charged it and went riding..all was well for 2 hours and then the last time I tried to start the bike to go home, it was so dead I could even push start it...finally got a jump and rode it home. Tested the output and the battery read 9v at rest and 10.5 at 4000rpm, I guess since the reading jumped up at 4000rpm, this means my charging system is good...???
Can anyone tell me how to go about using my multimeter to test my reg/rec?

Ive got a 92 CBR F2 and i thought that my stator was bad, so i went through the hassle of taking it off , which was soo fun. and i tested it, there was no broken connection, and it was tested in working condition, so then the next move was to check the rectifier, which proved to be bad. See the stock Rectifier's that the bikes come with are all enclosed with thick rubber. The one i ordered has metal vents for a better ventilation, and longer laster. I actually got it really cheap. Go to www.oldbikebarn.com and be sure to look at the main page because you can get 10 percent off of your first purchase, now im not sure if your model is there, but even if they dont have it you can call their eight hundred number and they will oder whatever you need. My Holiday powersports local honda delership priced an oem at 360.oo, and i got this one off bike barn for 90 bucks, and seven for shipping, i will tell you how it is when i get it, should be in the next couple days. hey thanks bro for the response - ended up being the reg/rec - the wiring and the plastic connector was toast and one of the 3 wires leading to the stator was hanging by a single tread wire, hence the intermittant charging. Bought the reg/rec with the cooling heatsinc(fins) from dennis kirk for 100 bucks and now everything works like a champ. I'm even getting 13+ volts at idle!
