I feel so dumb for doing this....normally i take pics of the bolts i take out or place them in the holes they came out of when the part is taken out. My battery went bad and I took it out after finally figuring out how the strap comes off....but will have to figure how to slide it back on....anyways...Could someone take a pic of the battery set up and how the bolts go on to hold the positive and negative terminals on cause for some reason those bolts dont wanna go back on...theres 6 bolts in total. 4 of the size 10 or 12 i believe go to the tank piece and then the 2 that use a phillips..the phillips def dont wanna go back on the top of the battery to hold the connectors on...btw i have had my head in the clouds with being a medical student so this could just be a stupid fix but any help would be much thanks

 

the bolts that hold the battery in have nuts that slide into the battery posts. If you dont have the nuts they wont tighten down.

 

I always hated losing those little nuts. (if that's the case)
What a PITA.
I just bought a bag of screws and nuts that would fit and I keep them in my little drawer organizer just for the bikes....

 

thanks guys, i just cleaned the hole garage cause today i took the day off and I cant find anything around the bike or anything...were do all those bolts and nuts go? so some of you replaced them with home depot, or low's bolts? prob be the easiest way to go right now cause the nearest bike place is about 20 miles away and the people there are ******..plus rather pay 2 bucks for what the dealer wants 12-16 for anyways

 

When I put my battery in, I only recall the strap and the bolts for the terminals, one each. IIRC, the new battery came with new bolts.
