powder coating parts

Looking pretty good. Feel a bit silly now to mention that bearing baking thing as I did not know you`re doing it yourself, but as said I`ve been to a powdercoating shop daily to bring and pick up stuff at work and I`ve seen some jobs go south because the customer left the bearings in place and/or protected parts with regular tape.
That being said, I did notice you had some paint where the bearings go, I`d probly try to remove it before putting in new bearings.

In person rim didn't look good. Wasn't shiny kinda dull from multiple coats, and trash got in it. Look at it on your phone and blow it up and look at spoke at 5 o-clock. Full of black trash. I need a real oven so I can spray vertical and bake it vertical. I'm going to try and make a stand like I did for car rims. I got impatient and wanted it sprayed. Now I get to sand blast it all off. oh well. learning process.

Since powder coating and CBR rims are being discussed, I thought I'd share a pic from my latest project. I'm building a 1983 CB1100F "resto-mod" that will feature CBR F2 wheels, front suspension and brakes, and 04 CBR600RR rear swingarm. The original paint scheme for this bike was blue with pearl white and decals. I'm not going to alter that scheme but thought it would be nice to do the CBR wheels in pearl white. Here's the front wheel as I'm getting it ready for final balancing:
The rotors were all sent off for surface grinding and when they returned, I cleaned and re-blasted the center rings prior to powder coating them in satin black. I polished the bolt heads and the final result came out just the way I wanted.
I would be happy to share the process of how to properly prep and powder coat CBR wheels if anyone is interested. It isn't as bad as one may think, but it does require some specialized equipment.
