Cutting the cbr900 gas tank to make it slimmer
I'm doing another crazy build using my old show bike:
.
Making some changes. Cbr1000rr front end going on. I used a cbr900 triple stem put into the 1000 triples-all good, ditching the innotech crea seat section/gas tank combo and replacing it with an honda rs125 racing seat. Going to keep the innotech front fairing because it really slims down the front of the bike. What I hated about the innotech gas tank/seat combo was how bulky it was. Now getting to the oem tank, its also a bit bulky. The oem gas tank protrudes over the frame rails in the front about an inch on each sid e. I would like to cut this out and make the gas tank follow the frame lines. This will make the bike more narrow. When you look at streetfighter cbrs, the tank looks too big compared to their seat section.
Has anyone cut a tank or used another gas tank?
