i got my tank off my bike to get ready for paint. while its off i was looking at my ugly gas tank lid. is there anything i can do to it to make it look a little better? i kinda don't think it will polish very well. i i don't think paint would stick. and ideas? thought about powdercoating but i don't want to spend that kind of time on it. im hoping to have my bike running again by friday nite!!!!

ahhh i don't want to spend that kind of money. i was thinking of doing something to mine. i'll be selling this bike on here soon. just wanna get the tank looking good and wait for my streetfighter idea in my head to become real. good looking lid tho

they have this at walmart. if you scuff it lightly and use the ground coat. it will come out looking good.i used it before and it has a anodized look to it...both ground and color would be about 10.00

 

the paint is drying now! i think it will look great. im taking pictures as i go so i'll let ya know about it when its done... maybe tonite!

ya i went with the smoke color... its a dark gray color i guess. i didn't wanna get something that would take away from the color i'm painting my tank. dupli-color mirage red/blue. lol here is a pic that i just took. i also have black bolts to go in it. i haven't sanded the lid or cleared it yet either.

mine is now being done in blue anodized. i like it.

 

glad to be of assistance! and thanks bindel for the idea. i have mine in the oven to it will stick a little better. next is a soft wet sand and the some clear!
