Default The Signs of Age......

Took the rear wheel off today as she is getting a new rear tyre this week and was having a look under there. Where the exhaust branches off to each side under the rear linkage I have significant rust to the point where two of the flaps that are under the clamps on the right side of the exhaust system ( where the pipes fit inside each other ) have rusted off and fell on the ground. I'm hoping to make up some type of sleeve to repair it for now. A new exhaust is out of the question atm. Maybe I might find one on fleabay. I suppose you get that after 21 years so its hardly a surprise. It is a Honda so it will be right....

Any Exhaust shop can weld in new "collars" there Bordo...... wouldn't worry much about it
as ya could even tack some cut 2" regular exhaust pipe yourself if you had access to a small mig welder.

Short term fix ....... epoxy steel putty or JBWeld

Yep, I'd just have an exhaust shop hook you up. Shouldn't be too expensive, either. (but I'd ask first.. )

Exhausts are pretty darn easy to weld, too, if you have the parts off the bike (and you have the right pieces...lol)
I did my old jeep. Took me a little bit of work but pipe is cheap and it still looks good. Just clean it up right and protect it.

Yeah, these girls are definitely getting some years on them......

Thanks Guys,
Yeah I might have a look at the system Bio suggested but will probably go for a repair by some one who knows what they are doing. I was probably better off leaving it alone.....
