Default Removing rear suspension spring?

So the rear spring on my bike is yellow. I hate yellow. It also dosen't match the dark blue plasticsso I wantto pull it out and paint it red. How involved is it? Im extremely car friendly but this is my first bike.

Well i typed a long detailed response only to get an error message[:@] Anyways support the bike with car stands or whatever just don't support it by the swingarm. And you're gonna have to lift up the gas tank as well. There will be one bolt holding the shock to the linkage/swingarm and another to the frame.
