Default fuel pump prime only if i pull up on right side tank ! ! !

The fuel pump will not prime. If I pull up on the right side of the tank the bike makes the prime noise. I replaced the wiring from the plug to the pump hoping a wire was pinched, but it did nothing.

Fuses all appeared fine

Do you guys think this a relay or pump problem?

i kind of had a similiar situation, what i found to be the issue was that when i pulled the tank up, i had loosen a wire and when i lifted the tank it touched and would prime but when it was down it wasnt making a good connection.

The wires I spliced were the green and brown I believe. . . . the two that go from the harness plug to the fuel pump.

Is one of above wires I mentioned the ground wire you replaced? And if so where did you decide to ground it?

I cant remember exactly, but theres a spot to ground on a bolt or nut somewhere under the tank just in front of the ECU box. Really shouldnt mater where u ground it, because a ground is a ground. However, the shorter the ground is always better.....Disconnect ur fuel pump from the factory plug (holding the FP plug in ur hand).....Take the FP plug and connect a hot from battery and a ground. See if that makes the FP kick on....IF it kicks on, then u know ur problem is in the factory wiring........Which means, u can then re-route the hot wire of the FP to the hot of the Ignition switch and then just make another ground....This will allow the FP to work, almost as if it was connected to the factory wiring......Theres always a way around things, hehe....=-)

As you suggested I hot wired the pump to the battery and sure enough it fired right up.

I continued by rerouting the ground and the voltage to the ignition as you suggested, and everything seems to be perfect now.

I really appreciate all the help on this.
