Anyone experience very smelly exhaust?
On the 98 F3 anyone experience very smelly exhaust at lights have to mitigate the exposure and my clothes smell bad I stick them in the washer. Nothing compared to something with air injection and a canister or fuel injection. I don’t remember smelling so terrible prior to injecting multiple tank liners and gunk. Any suggestions? Berryman Intake valve cleaner?

Yeah, rich mixtures are horrible. Having PAIR and catalytic converter does wonders to clean up exhaust. Try leaning out idle-mixtures with pilot-screw. It only affects idle mixtures. Lean out each cylinder until you can just barely detect drop in idle speed, then move on to next cylinder. At very end, use idle screw to adjust idle-speed +100rpm or whatever you lost back up to stock idle speed.
Berryman’s is mostly acetone and will clean tank, but won’t last long enough to clean cylinders. Use PEA-based fuel-system cleaner:
- Red Line SI-1
- Techron Concentrate Plus
- 3M Max Strength Fuel System Cleaner #08814
- Royal Purple Max Atomizer 18000
- Gumout All-in-One (might be off list soon due to lowering amounts of PEA)
Follow instructions on bottle. Then use bottle of this stuff couple times a year to keep entire fuel-system clean.
