That was why I asked the question before, as it crossed my mind that some one could have changed the seat lock at some point.
Does the key turn at all in the lock ? I ask because on the 1000 you have to pull the seat backwards then up to get it off, which had me fooled for a minute or two.
Other than that, it's perseverance with the oil until it frees up, keep on jiggling the seat, even giving it a gentle bash downwards with your fist, don't go crazy though LOL

Another idea is to buy a set of jigglers (locksmiths tool) and learn how to use them. I found it useful when I worked as the caretaker of a big college, people losing keys all the time.

OK, last idea, then I'm out... LOL

Fashion a hook on a piece of wire, push it under the seat and try and hook the latch, yellow arrow, in the direction of the green arrow ( back of the bike) This will release the catch, red arrow. TaaDaaa.
This will work on the thou if the 600 is the same you will be ok.

Have you had any luck with this Vaxelius ??

I have been working on mine to get the helmet lock to work, all good now. Turned out the grab rail is twisted slightly and I have had to adjust the seat release to stop it all binding up.
