Ah ok, I'll try putting spacers in there and give them some more tension and see how that goes. I'm thinking it is clutch related because when I have the plates out and spin the transmission in gear...

I would suspect the side stand switch - it has 3 wires, a yellow and purple that goes to the indicator light and a green and white one that goes to the interlock circuit. Check the green and white...
