Default cant go over 7k in 4,5,6th gears

new here but i have a 2000 cbr 600 f4 currently checking fuel issues i tore the carbs apart and was fairly clean don't think those are an issue at the moment tested the fuel pump (not oe style) and its at 10v instead of 12v and seeing that i was assuming that maybe i cant get over 7k since its not pumping at full volts its almost like i hit a limiter from what it sounds like and it seems to be down on power i was thinking of hooking up a switch directly from battery to see if it will pull past 7k i was wanting to hear some thoughts on this a little insight would be appreciated

the fuel pump that is currently on it oe one quit working

also i can use the 13k rpms in 1,2,3 gears just so we can clear that up now

what do you mean by this? do you mean you only have 10v going to it? or that you believe the pump to only be rated for 10v? if you have this pump wired in to the existing fuel pump wiring, as long as you are going more than 20mph then it should have voltage to it all the time. its going to be difficult to help diagnose this issue as long as you have that fuel pump in there, because we have no way to know how the flow characteristics of the pump affect the way the carburetors receive fuel, especially in the higher RPM. first things first, I would replace that pump with the proper OE fuel pump and see what happens. it certainly seems like a fueling issue.

I suppose you could attempt to do the fuel pump flow test as described in the service manual to see if you get the same results.

The pump is getting 10v! When I rev it it goes up .2 volts and it has a new stator and rectifier so I’m a little lost on where to look trying to find this draw if I can get 12v to the pump and it’s still acting up I will swap back to an oe pump but this pump should work I’ve seen someone using one on their cbr 1k so I thought surely it should work I also don’t have a manual or something like that if you could help me out with that that’d be great

static revving it shouldn't affect anything other than battery voltage. the only change in the electrical fuel circuit will be if the bike is above or below 20mph. I'm thinking you might have a bad fuel pump transfer relay or fuel cut-off relay. they are under the tail fairing on the throttle side.

how can I test them like what volts should they be putting out or how can I test that they aren’t working I can feel a clicking from what I believe to be the transfer relay and fuel cut relay

attached is a copy of the section in the manual that details how to test both relays. please note, in order to do this test properly, you MUST be able to get the speedometer above 20mph. this is best done by picking the rear wheel up.

At lower RPMs, fuel-pump is pulsed by ignitor. At idle, few ignitions per second, so few pump pulses. Higher RPMs, more pulses per second and more petrol flow. Very ingenious solution to variable flow needed.

At higher speeds, circuit in speedo turns on fuel-pump full-time. There may be broken wire between dash and fuel-pump relay. Find wire and measure it from end-to-end to verify it's not broken.
