I have a CBR1000F, has anyone got a pin out to the ECU or tell me if it's possible to see what gear I am in?

Just buy an Acumen or Gi-Pro-X or similar. £100 ish and easy to set up.

I saw the devises suggested, does these use the speed and RPM to work out the gear it's in?

Like I said, I have a CBR1000F engine fitted into my kit car and making a dash myself. So if I could work out how to determine the gear this is my best option.

I have found the original wire that used to be driving the cluster Neutral signal and can see it is 12V when Neutral is selected and then falls to 2V when any other gear is selected. This wire is currently sitting tapped up in my exsisting wiring loom so was also wondering where this wire originated from?

Neutral is usually just a switch which would earth the lamp. From memory the gear indicators work with knowing the location of the neutral and then working via revs. I don't think there would be a gear position sensor in the old tech that is a 89 CBR. The last one I set up it was just a case of stick the bike eon a rear paddock stand and go through the gears until the light flashed then change up to the next gear. You could also set it up on the road but on a stand was just easier for the bike.
