Hey guys, me again..... gonna head to the track again this weekend (Hallett in Jennings OK) Had a quick question. I know that the general rule of thumb when taking ur machine to the track is 2-7 lbs lower than street..... Anybody in here on dunlop qualifier 208's? Surely somebody in here. If so, what pressure ya usually run? The reason I ask is i'm going to start dialing my suspension slowly and I'd like to not have to worry about tire pressure, gonna be a sunny 98degrees this weekend! Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys.

 

if you are dialing in you will have to worry about the tire pressure. 98 degrees can lead to some extreme track temps that will quickly heat up tires and increase pressure over a milder day.

 

I ran my Q's at 32front and 30rear per the Dunlop dealer at the race track and they worked VERY well!!

 

go as normal and ask the tech at the track when you're doing inspection...they'll know better...doesn't take that long to bring the pressure down...

if there's a tire vendor there you can also as them. maybe you'll get lucky and it'll be a dunlop person! otherwise, gixxereater's suggestion sounds pretty good. my buddy with qualifiers uses 31/30.

 

Remember to check tire pressue cold. Even a bit of heat in the tire can really vary your readings. Start with about 30lbs at each end cold and then check it RIGHT when you come in off the track. Usually someone around (tech, tire guy) can tell you what an ideal operatingpressure should be for that tire. Compare that to what you go when you first came off the track.
