Default Dragging Knee???

Okay so I picked up pants last night from my Uncle to use for the track tonight (1/4 mile) and he's got chucks on em. I want to try to scrape them up before I give them back, lol. How hard is it to drag knee on the street? I know the basics but any other pointers would be much appreciated. I know you want to hang your @ss off the seat to the side your turning (ex: left turn-right @ss cheek on the left side of the seat, right turn- left @ss cheek on the right side of the seat) and put your face "in your mirror" on the side you're turning. I've never had chucks and feel like I lean my bike pretty far, but never had a knee down. Any other suggestions would be great? I have Michelin PP 2CT's also and i'll have them on 32/30 Front/Rear. Thanks guys!

Dragging knee should be the RESULT of the technical points of riding. With that said, it can be done without getting the corner right, but the rider would have to sacrifice a lot in terms of safety...(and you'd look goofy too)

If you really just want to destroy his pucks, find an empty parking lot and do circles. You can probably grind the puck down to nothing in 5 minutes if you put alot of weight on them. It takes a long *** time on the street plus its really dangerous.

in most cases ppl dont lean near as far as they think they do, myself included Like has been said tho, a parking lot will be the safest place to do it. Trying to force a knee down b4 you are ready can be lethal.

If you want to drag knee, take it to the track. You try and drag knee on the street for the first time, and you'll likely end up with a wrecked bike.

Your choice.

You guys are right, I've wanted to get to the track for a class since last year but haven't had the money. Thanks for the input. I'll save that first knee drag for a track where it's much safer.

Don't get scared the first time you drag knee. Seen people do it for the first time and wreck. They jerked the bike causing the suspension to go crazy when your that far over.

Good. As was stated before, dragging knee should be a result, not a goal. Get on the track, learn the finer points of cornering, and suddenly, you'll touch down.

I drag knee on almost every corner on the tracks I frequent, but NEVER on the street. The conditions just aren't as safe and predictable.
