Default Wheelies- rear tire wobble problem

When I ride a wheelie for say over 1/2 a mile or more I seem to get some wheel wobble at high speeds. It is really bad at around 90mph in third but sometimes in 2nd nice and smooth it starts going back and forth and gets scary. So i bring it down right away but today I desided to try and ride it longer and it was really bad and I could of lost it but got lucky. Is this normal? or I'm I doing something wrong? Im riding the balance point.... i could ride it forever ifit wasn't for that. Thanks guys

What tire pressure you running? I run mine at about 28psi, which is way on the high side for wheeling, but I like to get into the twisties too, so I keep it balanced between canyons, and wheelies.

My best guess is that if you drop the tire pressure down, it will give you a bigger footprint of the tire on the road, and therefore less wobble.

Most stuners run theirs in the teens, you might want to say drop out 5-6psi from what you normally run and see if you can notice a difference. If you like that, experiment with going even lower until you find the balance of turning, tire wear, and wobble-b-gone that you're looking for.

I've also heard that If you do burnouts and stuff like that you create a
flat spot on the middle of the tire which can cause the bike to wobble in a wheelie..

at those speeds it happens to the best of us. i wouldnt run under 20 pounds of air if you are bringing it up at those speeds. with all the dips and inconsistacy in on roads it would make things worse (ive done wheelies w/ 15 pounds on the freeway) usually the fatser you go the more wobble you will have.

Yea I have been running like 32-36psi. Way to much from what it sounds. Also my tire is getting a nice flat spot and should be replaced soon. I will drop the tire pressure alittle and keep the wheelies in second gear. Thanks guys
