Default Wheelie Teach

I'm interested in learning how to ride wheelies and looking for the safest way to learn. I came across this the other day and just wanted to know if any of you have ever tried it, know someone who has tried it or may have any thoughts about it. Thanks, Mike

Garbage. There is no safe way to wheelie other than covering your brake, wearing your gear, and not getting ahead of yourself.

Wheelies either come naturally or they don't. Some of my friends were just good at it right away but it took a bit of work for me.. Just be very careful and learn the your bikes pivot point and for god sakes, cover your rear brake.

why do you want to do them?

If you want to learn get a dirtbike or four wheeler and do them in the dirt, not balance thousands of dollars of fine machinery and drop it.

Guys, thanks for all of your input on this.

f44life, can you honestly say that when you're riding your cbr1000 around the thought of launching it up in a wheelie and riding it out has never crossed your mind?

it does cross my mind i have a bunch of people i know that can ride wheelies for miles. But that thought is over come by what if i loss it and hurt my self and damage my bike.

Then someone would ask, so what happened? I was doing a wheelie and lost it! Now how dum would you feel? Showing off and grinding the pavement?

I tell this to everyone that says "can you do wheelies" I tell them what i told you above, the thought of lossing it and telling people, even if i kept it to myself i still would feel like a dumass.

I know for a fact a friend dumped his bike at 70mph doing a wheelie and he told everyone he swerved to miss a racoon. My point is proven, wheelies are for egotistical people. I can keep the wheel down and still be badass. You go faster anyways.

Plus, my other buddy does so many wheelies his fork tubes started leaking from all the times off coming out of a wheelie. Tire in the front is wore funny from 70mph and then dropping a tire going from a stop to 90mph instanly is not good and it smokes when he drops it from a wheelie. This is a street bike not a dirtbike with suspension for doing jumps and taken the hit.

Those are the thoughts in my mind, o and watching so many people destroy there mint bikes on youtube.

I understand this is a stunters section, but if you wanna do wheelie learn very slow, and if you can in the dirt with a 4wheeler or dirtbike. Or buy a 1000dollar pos streetbike take it in a open parking lot and do it not trying it down the highway or in busy traffic.

I tel

a quick wheelie and bringing it right back down is gonna happen. but keepin it up in the air at 80mph is idiotic.

my friend lost it in a 80mph wheelie and snapped his shin bone in half and had to spend 3 months in the hospital and 6 months on bed rest...alittle fun is fine but when you go big you fall farther
