Default RE: wheelie bug

So day 2 of "learning to wheelie" went about the same as day 1. Had a few where they popped up pretty high, others not so high. I'm still learning the 'technique' of slipping the cluch, reving and releasing...don't quite have that down w/ any consistency yet. Baby steps is a good thing here since there's much more at stake if you crash. So for now the plan is get comfortable and consistent w/ bringing it up in 1st gear, then look at keeping it up little by little, which I guess is just throttle control at that point.

I guess to add to what's been said above... after you rev up and slip the clutch, keep the throttle in that same position. Don't roll it off until your wheel has come back down.

Most likely you are still at the stage of using too little throttle to bring it to 12, so basically you can slip, and set your throttle and ride it until gravity pulls you back down. You have to launch the wheelie to about 9 o'clock to really need to roll the throttle back off... so at your stage, just try to NOT slip/roll on, and roll back off as it's coming up. Slip it, and keep the throttle where it is... that' will start adding distance to em and get you more comfortable.

Last bit of advice... as soon as you can hold em for more than say 3 seconds... practice using the rear brake to bring em back to earth. Get in that habit early, as it'll save you from looping later.
