want to start getting into wheelies
okay ive read alot of wheelie topics on here and it seems there is a difference in whats easier to start on, clutching it up or power wheelies, i ride 99 cbr f4 and im just wondering whats the best way to get started?
Well to be honest 10 differant people might get you 10 differant answers / opinions. I am just going to say do what is comfortable to you, since i dont know how long you have had the bike etc. Even if you start with power to get comfortable thats ok in my book, and you can go to clutching when you are ready
i havent done either but y do so many people hate power wheelies? also, will dropping the pressure down to 15-20 hurt the tire in any way riding normally, like to and from a stunting area?
if you clutch it up , is it better to .. pull the clutch in, rev and "dump" the clutch.. or should you "slip" the clutch rev it and let the clutch back out ?
do not power wheelie. the rpm's are up too high, causing the throttle to be too touchy. if u are starting out on an f4, u should go about 6000 rpm's and slip the clutch. by slipping the clutch, i mean pull it in just until it disengages the motor, then let it out quickly, but dont dump it. the front end should stand up. just practice that until u get comfortable. when i say 6000 rpm's, that doesnt mean that u should pay full attention to ur gages, cause that could get u hurt. wheelie is a feeling, not a science. 6000 rpm's is just a starting point....
also, if u run 15-20 lbs of pressure, it will make a difference in the way the bike rides....the *** end will "sway" more....but it wont hurt anything...just keep in mind that curves and corners are going to have more of a wobble
