Default sugestions

my first wheelie.... about 5mph i got it to about 4000 and poped the clutch. it was nice and smooth about 1foot of the ground for about a sec.

my second... i got ballsy and got it to about 6000 and poped the clutch, this one was about 2 feet high and climbing fast so i let go and it came down like a rock.

any suggestions on how to do it higher and more controlled, nothing big just about 2 feet smooth hop for now.

i have all of my plastics off and its a good time to practice. at low speed.

not yet....i didnt get the bike to stay up... im just starting to make little hops

pop clutch > up i go > let go of the throttle.

thats why i asked what to do next

i figured, one step at the time and taking it slow will benefit me in every way.

For slow speed wheelies you have to bring the bike up high and fast or you will be chasing them out. Chasing them out is usually not recommended since it means you will be going faster if you do go down.

i just have the fear of flipping it...and thats something i dont want to do.

but im sure with time i will get it. so far ill just stick with hops to get comfortable with one wheel being of the ground.
that will give me more control over the revs and understanding of how high they have to be for how high i want it.

thanx for the replays.

Doesnt the tip over sensor stop the bike from coming that far back? granted if you reved way way high and dropped the clutch it might have enough momentum to keep going back but that seems like it is harder to do then it seems

The tipover won't prevent that. It goes more or less for left or right lateral movement, ie the bike on either side. Also chances are you are far from 12 so you probably don't need to worry about flipping. Video tape yourself and you'll see what I mean.

I mean if you want to really get into practicing good wheelies I would definitely get a built bike you can practice on. That or learn on a dirtbike or something that lets you get used to balance point that you don't mind messing up. Don't get me wrong I'm still a stunt squid, but I am making my bike bullet proof before I really start throwing in some hard work in the lot. Do whatever you feel comfortable with and go from there. There are a lot of good videos on youtube too that really go over everything well.
