I'm 6'2, kind of tall, does anyone else feel cruntched standing up on your F4i?I tried to put my left foot on the passanger peg, but that didn't help to much. Any suggestions?

RE: Quick question // Wheelie
DONT STAND IT UP IN FIRST. The way I was taught.is like this. Go to a safe area were there is NO other traffic. Get the bike upto where it starts really making power in 2nd gear. ie.(ALL THESE STEPS HAVE TO BE IN A FLUID MOTION1. somwhere around 8 or 9k Rpm and up (approximately). Let off the Throttle, as you2. Stand up and litlerally bounce down on the bike Hard to compress the suspension,3 RIght as the suspension starts to decompress. Wack the throttle. And you kinda push down and forward at the same time with your legs on the pegs, And the front should come right up. DONT pull on the Clip ons( handle bars) You'll have a tuff time pulling up the front evenly. Just use the throttle, YOur and your Legs. AGAIN I would not TRY this in First Gear, Not a good Idea, It will come up to fast and you'll just end up slamming the front down( Bad on the fork seals) Plus If you do get it Up. You'll run out of power to quick and set it down hard. JUST REMEMBER PLEASE BE CAREFUL, ITS INevitable That We all Get A little nutz sometimes. Just know when to be stupid. Where YOUR GEAR. And take your time Learning, Preferably on a road with no Side streets AND NO traffic. BE CAREFUL bro.
PS when u first start doing it. YOUR GONNA FEEL LIKE THE BIKE it 3 feet higher off the ground then it really is. so take it slow
DISCLAIMER: I dont endorse Doing wheelies, I get more of a thrill out of track ridiing, But lets face it , Pulling it up here and there is Fun. Be Careful bro.Cheers

RE: Quick question // Wheelie
sounds like firefly wants to get u doing power wheelies
dont do it. clutch it up, much safer and alot more control once u get it down, everyone feels weird doing their first standups
for me its more comfortable with my left foot on the back peg like u said u tryed, pull in the clutch rev up let out the clutch,no one will be able to tell u what rpms to rev too and all that, it depends how fast u let the clutch out and all that happy horse ****
good luck,be careful, wear gear and im not responsible if anything happens

+1 on what StuntinThe954rrsaid. firefly is a squid and should not be giving advice. work on 1st gear clutching. its easy... it just takes time and practice. there are a million threads on clutching stand ups, sit downs, ect. dont worry about the rpm range. just play around with the bike.

RE: Quick question // Wheelie
When are you supposed to start standing up though, when the wheel starts lifting or before opening the throttle? The problem is that if you stand up before opening the throttle you are loosing you main point of rest- your *** - and during hard acceleration it is kind of hard to remain standing up, you are either need tolean forward to overcome acceleration otherwise youlean backwards andhandle bars become your main point of rest, which is not good I suppose.

So in your opinion........ Is it harder to do a stand up 2nd gear wheelie or a sit down first gear wheelie? Cause someone said something about first gear sit down wheelie runnin out of power and going down hard,, I can hold it steadly up keeping my RPM around 10k,,, its not the speed or the fall that worries me,, its more the standing up part! lol,, lord, watch this please!!!
