STILL LEARNING:

clutching up wheelies while standing up is too hard for me. i can do power stand ups just enough to chase it a little bit but when i clutch it, my body jerks back and im afraid of losing my grip. Am i doing something wrong or is that how it feels for everyone?

For me it feels like the bike comes up to me, not like i am pulling it up.

 

there are alot of ways to do a standup wheelie. clutch it up power it up, start by standing, start by sitting. whatever. but ive found the best way to do it is start by sitting in the appropriate spot for doing a sit down wheelie and you should have enough power with your bike to power up a wheelie in 2nd gear. let off the throttle at about 8 grand and give it some juice right after that. when the bike starts coming up stand up with it. so your legs will be bend off the start. then you can adjust your body and the throttle accordingly. soon you will be standing fully upright and impressing all the ladies.
