Question oil cooler placement.

I am building a street fighter and have been reading a few things and now cant decide on were to place my oil cooler. i have seen people place it down by the radiator but others say it gets to hot there and others place it on the forks. where do you think is the best place.

a place that gets air, but doesn't get rocks flung into it...

so if i place it down by the radiator it still will be able to do its job by cooling the oil?

ya, the way those coolers work is by utilizing surface area and air to cool the oil that runs through it. so by the radiator would be good (but i'd be worried about a rock ruining its day), on the side (still near the front though) would work too. it just depends, all you need to do is get creative about it and start holding it up on certain areas to see if you like the way it looks and figure how you're going to mount it.
