RE: THIS POST SHOULD BE A STICKY IN THE NEW RIDERS SECTION
Some $$$ was recently made available to me and my first thought was to run out and by all kinds of crap for the bike. But my second thought was to buy some leather, which I did. I've got some speedmaster JR's on there way. Don't get me wrong, I got a PCIII as well. But at least I invested in safety too.

Got to watch for those deer man. I think there just as bad as traffic. My buddy just hit a 8 point Elk during a lane change. The thing actually jumped down onto the road from the cliff above and Blammmmo, no time to react, totalled the bike but he was wearing leathers and walked away with only a few softball size bruises and a confused look [>:] crazy bastards-them creatures. Anyway good to see your recovering, and yeah get some gear.

a friend of mine was a zx6r and hit a deer, but i can't remember how fast he was going. he said it ran out in front of him and he centered up on it right before he hit it (something he was told about centering up if it's below the headlight), sliced the deer in two, he went airborne along with the bike, but was wearing gear and wasn't hurt too bad. he then sold the bike...

stop giving him a hard time about not wearing gear.. we have all gone over a 100 only wearing a helmet and jacket.. a buddy of mine hit a sheep at only 60mph on his bmw with full gear on and had to spend 2 nights in the hospital. sh*t happens.. besides if you couldn't get hurt doing it then it wouldn't be any fun.
