Default Todays project

And so the mesh on the fairing project begins. Started with me buying 2 pieces of mesh from customgrilles.com or something for $25 shipped and when I got them I found out that they were the exact same thing as the $3 rain gutter covers from Home Depot. =( Oh well live and learn right? Heading out to Steinhafels right now to try to win a vespa at the drawing today and get some free Jimmy Johns subs then to Home Depot to pick up some epoxy. Will have pics up later tonight or tomorrow morning when it all dries!

I'm using "Amazing Goop" It's ok but I have to sit and hold it forever. I ran out yesterday so I'm off to the store now to buy some more. Almost done and it looks good!

DONE!!! Let me tell you if I could go back I don't know if I would have done this. It's a mess and a pain in the butt to do! I scratched my fairings on the outside and I have what looks to be a mess of epoxy glue crap on my fairings too! /cry

Well here's the pics:
The stuff I used $3 at Home Depot but I paid $21 shipped. =(

Looks like you did a very clean job. But I can't see the scratches that you mentioned either. What kind of glue did you use? I did mine with 5-minute epoxy, watched TV, and did small sections at a time. I spent about an hour per piece of mesh just gluing. All-in-all, it looks like you did a nice job!

I used Amazing Goop from Home Depot except I ran out. I went to go buy more at Ace Hardware they didn't have it so I bought some 5min epoxy crap and that totally sucked. The next day (today) I went back to Home Depot bought some more Amazing Goop and some how lost it walking from my bike to my room at home. So I was ticked off and used the 5minute epoxy and I walked out to my bike and the part that I used the 5min stuff on came undone so tomorrow it's back to Home Depot to get more Amazing Goop! GAH this project has been annoying.

Thanks for the compliments though! =)

Mike
