Default It is time to straighten out some people's perspectives

Im tired of people saying hey man, why do you not have a cage on your street fighter, or why is it missing a 12 o'clock bar, or why isnt your tank dented....

This is WHY because a STUNT BIKE and a STREET FIGHTER are two TOTALLY different things. To each their own, but they are built for two totally different reason.

A stunt bike is build to stunt, and do astounding tricks most cannot fathom on two wheels....

A street fighter, is a attempt to mix a streetbike feel with the origins of motorcycle a cafe style bike, or a more of a cruising look.....

Difference in modifications....

Stunt bike:

Chains
Sprockets
Crash Cages
Dual Caliper Brackets
12 O'clock Bars
Sub Cages
Rear Brake Levers
Occationally Front End Swaps
Front/Rear Brake Upgrades
Steering Stabilizers

Usually their nakedness if bc they either A, dont want to hurt their fairings, or B have already hurt them and need replacements

Street Fighter Modification:

Front End Swaps
Swing Arm Swaps
Custom Subframes
Wheel Swaps
Custom Exhaust Work
Custom Frame Work
Custom Metal Work
Custom Fiberglass Work
Brake Upgrades
Weight Reduction
Custom Headlights
Aftermarket Headlights
Headlight Brackets
Aftermarket Gauge Clusters
Custom Rearsets
Race Rearsets
Forced Induction
Motor Upgrades/Major Modifications

Usually stripped of fairings for a more aggressive look, and to show the aesthetic work done to the guts of the beast such as the engine, or 1 off sub frames, exhaust, etc.

Ive been notified this thread is most likely going to be locked, no offense taken...

It wasnt meant to start a pissing match. Just started so people who dont know what the difference is between a streetfighter and a stuntbike can see, and realize they are not one and the same....

I won't diagree with you Z, but I will say that any bike which is used for stunting can be called a stunt bike. No matter the mods, if you stunt with it, you can call it a stunt bike IMHO.

If I do stoplight drags in my 4x4, does that make my truck a race car?

I get your drift, Z. Pretty much agree with you. I do want to point out, though, a lot of the fighter 'influence' comes from the whole "Mad Max"
school. Stripped down, pieced together rugged, raw power machines. If you
do a stripped-down solo stunter with a cage and headlight, it's gonna look
a whole lot like a street fighter. Especially with the low, cage-mount
machine guns!

Ern

p.s. noticed that you had the good taste to use knifemaker's project as an
illustration of a streetfighter. ;-)

AHHHHHHH but my man, if you hop on a buddies bike and do stunts on it does that make it a stuntbike?

your going over the fine line of STUNT BIKE and STUNT RIDER....

but hey if you have a oem bike and stunt it and say its a stunt bike, ill never tell you differently lol
