The Squid Thread
i know what you mean. i had my boys (5 and 6) on the back only on the driveway doing about idle. just fast enough to keep the bike up. they loved it and wanted to go on the street and faster but it was to scary to run the thought of them falling off of the back. maybe n couple of years.
yeah, nothing infuriates me more then going down the road and looking over and seeing kids bouncing around in a car not strapped in. I just wanna jerk those kids out of the car and give them to responsible people who are ready to be parents.
great gear, state of the art protection for your whole body. wish i knew about the suzuki gear giveaway, i would buy one just to get that.lol

I was wondering how the riders around you guys dress? Around here in NJ all I see are extremes, they are either doing the standard "squid" thing with the shorts n' t-shirt or they're dressed to the T including a reflective vest (I dunno, something about seeing a guy who actually does the bright yellow reflective vest thing kind of struck me as weird).

sport riders mostly wear jeans/shorts and a t-shirt. and about 50/50 on the helmets.

There are also a lot of different biker clubs around the area and one of the strangest trends I've noticed with many of them is wearing a helmet, track boots with jeans tucked in, and their club vest over a t-shirt or beater. I definitely need to snap a picture at the next event I go to.

I usually do the half n' half thing with a jacket/helmet/gloves, but around my way in jersey almost everyone I ever see on a sportbike/standard is in a t-shirt. I don't really pay attention to Harley gear because it's a different genre of riding. BTW, I do the squid thing on my lunch breaks unless I plan on hitting the local highway for a bit of stress relief.
