I went to this bike event in my hometown and I use to work with this guy out there that does motorized street luge. He says his maximum speed is 144 mph. But he doesn't know if it can go faster because at 144 his wheels started melting.






These pictures is of his daughter's. She has the record for females @ 113 mph.

Has he tried running different wheels to help with his melting problem, haha?

 

Hmmm, he obviously needs a larger engine, lower it a bit closer to the ground and some smaller wheels on the front.... that should take care of the problem..... lol

 

Yea this guy and his daughter are truly nuts!! He had a t-shirt that said "More ***** than brains". LOL ... His daughter was telling me how it's safer on a street luge than on a motorcycle because there's no height to fall from. So when you do crash, you'll just slide.
But, I know he's tried a few different wheels.

 

144 MPH on skateboard wheels? No thanks! I'll take my chances on the "more dangerous" motorcycle.
