Pics from saturdays memorial ride
I know a few people from this forum attended this event, but there were also a few others from here that weren't able to go. So I figured I'd post the pics up here too
Well yesterday (saturday) was a rather somber day up here for many. A little background info on the reason behind this ride.... this guy Bryan, 21 years old, was murdered this past monday, shot in the back (intentionally) as he rode his new Ninja 250 past this psycho guys house. I don't want to get into all the details of what happened or who was wrong or right... not the place here to do it, and what's done is done. But here's the news article for all the info. This kid had just joined our local sportbike forum on Feb 14th

One of the people on the forum was friends with Bryans mother, so we checked with them and made sure it was alright if we put together a ride to the funeral home to show our support at the memorial service. She agreed that was a great idea, so that's what we did! Ended up having a fantastic turnout. We had right around 160 bikes total, plus the people in cars and those that rode 2 up, we ended up pushing probably close to 200 people showing up from our group. The family was very greatful for all the support. Many tears were shed by both the family and from our group.... it was a bit overwhelming for all of us.
Anyways, on with the pics
We all met up in the AM
Quick safety and ride conduct meeting, and a group prayer before heading out
Our escorts for part of the way there
More GSP escorts
Video of all of us pulling out from the BP station. This wasn't all of us (he didn't start the vid until after some pulled out already)

Somebody estimated we were a 2.5 mile stretch on the highway. I was right in the middle and even when up on a hill, I couldn't even see the front, and there was still a long string of bikes behind me
Video as we were pulling in

Partial group shot.... we couldn't fit everybody in one pic
Emotions ran strong, both with the family and with us. The guy facing the cam is Will (one of our guys who helped set it up), with Bryans father, younger brother, and mother (you can only see the top of her head on the right). This pic still gets to me
After a beautiful service, we all made our way over to the crime scene to pay our respects there
Video of what was said there

After that, we made our way over to the familys house. They invited us and everyone else over for food and drinks and just to relax for a bit. We got to talk with his parents for quite awile there
That's all the pics.... some were mine and some were others since I didn't take a whole lot. The rest of the pics can be found in the thread on our local forum

Be careful out there guys.... I know we say it all the time, but sometimes people really ARE out to kill you.... literally. This whole situation just makes my stomach churn

What all happened? RIP Bryan
What all happened? RIP Bryan
Pretty much sums it up. It's still under investigation, but as riders I think we all know exactly what happened here [:@]

Wow... That's fu--ing murder. He was riding a EX250 too. I heard about this on the news. They made it sound like this guy was riding at like 150mph and trying to run the stupid girls off the road. What a load of sh*t! I'm pissed, that bastard who shot him should die![:@]

Update:
Story updated at 6:26 pm on 12/1/2008
Jury convicts Gear of murder
Richard Harold “Ricky” Gear, was sentenced to life plus five years for malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault in the Feb. 25 death of Bryan Joseph “B.J.” Mough of Winder.
Gear admitted Wednesday that he didn’t know that Mough was the man who had followed his daughters, telling jurors that “you would’ve had to have been there” to understand the feeling he had, which was “something I can’t put into words.”
