So I moved this past weekend and while I was packing and unpacking all of my junk I came across the first picture of my bike.
I've been riding quads and dirt bikes since I was about 12 or so and got my first street bike when I was eighteen. She was is a 1991 CBR600F2, had about 23,000 miles on her and and I picked her up in 2005 for $1,800 from a guy I've rode with ever since I bought it.
The picture was about a month after I got her and the guys I rode with convinced me to take her down the drag strip. Ran a 12.03 in the 1/4. Looking at the bike in this picture puts a smile on my face then I look at the lack of gear on me and laugh. I've upgraded quite a bit since then with my gear but I'm still expecting some cracks about it

as for gear...at least you have gloves to go with you helmet & a leather looking jacket. my first pic with my bike...i had a hoodie and no gloves
