Well, we'll see if it gets to production with those HP numbers. The new Viper was claimed at 650hp, then when it came out, it was only a modest 600.
Either way, it's still a Corvette. Park that next to a Viper, Audi R8 or Porsche GT3, and they won't even notice it.
Not to mention, the build quality of those things is pretty shabby. Go down to the dealer, look at the Z06 model, and give it a thorough looking over. You'll notice that if you push on the plastic rear end, the entire thing flexes in and out and feels extremely flimsy. Then look at the side vent on the front quarter panels and notice how it looks like someone cut it out with a pair of tin-snips. It gets even worse inside with the plastic panels not lining up properly, and the "econo-box" style.
I'm sorry, but when GM's flagship Z06 isn't even produced to the same quality as european sedans costing a quarter of the price, that just says a lot about GM.........cheap, cheap, cheap.

Corvette = overpriced fast junk.
Everyone I know who bought a vette new had nothing but problems. Squeaks, rattles, build quality, catastrophic failures in the tranny etc etc...
I saw a yellow z06 new at the dealer a while ago and the paint on the mirrors didn't match the paint on the rest of the car. GM = garbage motors.
