What exactly is that? Portable toilet?

 

Ha ha, very funny, no one of those stalls that a farmer or a fruitgrower or such like sets up one the roadside to sell off some of their stuff to passing motorists. I saw a couple today, pinecones in one, horse poo in another!, I wasn't tempted.

I appear to have fallen into some sort of cross cultural void with my suggested challenge :

YBNT - an unmanned roadside stall (with an honesty box).

I guess maybe they don't happen so much in the States anymore, but please let's just give it a couple of days; might be time for some of us in the Southern Hemisphere to keep this going through your guys winter.

I know I can't complete my own challenge, but, if required I will whip out tomorrow evening and get some photos of honesty boxes around where I live. Who knows?, depending on how make money is in the boxes, it might even be a profitable trip (j/k).

 

You guys down under have always been encouraged to participate, but seldom do. Let's try to improve on that!

and I'm looking for the challenge but nothing so far. maybe I need to visit NZ. I hear it's rated very highly.

 

Nice pic splash, I promise though that I will never do the "sticky out tongue thing" if you ever make it to NZ. Not all of us are All Blacks.

Anywhoo, interesting aside. Was talking about this thread to my workmates today.

Apparently in Cromwell (about 50 km down the road from where I live) there is a fruit stall with an honesty EFT/POS machine.

Instructions on the wall, swipe your card and key in the amount.

I guess it makes sense, if everyone does eftpos transactions there is no cash to steal?
