Actually, just like falling, it isn't the speed that kills, it's the sudden stop.

 

^ True..but the stop wouldn't be as bad if the high speeds weren't there.. But yeah you're right

 

wow. guess it just goes to show that even the best gear cant protect you from stupidity. never cool to see someone die, but i guess you can only cheat death for so long.

 

it looked like he went after him on purpose.... i wasnt able to see where that hatchback was heading?????

yeah, i think the hatchback was just pulling out to block him from passing, i doubt he meant to clip him and send him under the truck

i hate seeing this stupidity on the roads

 

I have had several things happen that can only be attributed to drivers deliberately messing with you because you're on a bike. I have had my brights on and watched people make eye contact with me and then pull straight out in front of me. I've had people jerk the car toward me as if they just wanted to see me react. I had a guy powerbrake his truck just inches away from my back tire at a stop light. I even had a guy I know, fly up behind me as I was turning from the highway to my road, he got in my lane and flew right up to my back tire and honked the horn..... dumba$$ was trying to scare me..... could have killed me!!!! The point is..... I dont put it past some idiots on the road to deliberately jerk a car over to block a bike just because they dont like us for some reason. Driving fast ...... I know its not right..... but its no excuse for some jerk to fool around and kill you.

Whew, I had a couple incidents in my "younger" days on my bike.... after racing and crashing a few times, i chilled out a lot on the street cause I've seen what happens on the track with everybody going the same direction with crash out areas and can only imagen, or view this video, what happens when you have on coming traffic, gaurdrails, trees, etc.
