i don't understand why the cops and news pay so much attention to these guys.

the riding in the video is a victimless crime. it is. if someone gets hit and gets hurt, the rider deserves to be punished. but until then, id concentrate on some other things like real crime

why wait until someone get's hurt? what happens if one of Nate's "female drivers" gets spooked and swerves into another car?

how bout this....would you let a small child put his finger into an electrical socket? or hand on a hot stove? No, because they need to learn that actions have consequences. and if you said yes....well then i'm glad i'm not your child =)

using the comparison of a child is hardly a good point. a child hasn't been taught anything. it has no concept of risk/reward. it NEEDS to be guided. that's why as parents, we must make decisions for our children sometimes.

however, adults don't need the same guiding hand like your "nanny state" thinking says we do.

like it or not - he did what he did - laws or whatever won't change that. AND, punishing it when you have no real need to because a) once again, it's a victimless crime and b)its pointless when the far majority of the public would not do it in the first place, so you're not influencing societal decision making.

my point, there's no real reason reporting on it OR trying to track him down when it won't really change any outcomes.

and why waste the limited resources of your police department when there are MORE needs of those resources like real crime.

it's just like the guy that got arrested in the uk for wheeling and speeding. that guy faces getting locked up. it doesn't seem to exactly have any bearing on what others do. those who will do it are going to do it regardless. this guy make get the speeding fine, but do you really think that it'll make him not do it again?

however, if he kills someone the next time, then you throw vehicular manslaughter at him. he did wrong, he hurt people, he needs punishment. and it justifies finding him.

and, going even further, would there be an outcry if he didn't video the whole thing? no there wouldn't. and a cop would NOT waste his time with even multiple resources complaining about a speeding biker

So nobody should be stopped for "victimless traffic violations" because they aren't hurting anyone but potentially themselves? Since they are adults, we shouldn't have to stop them and correct them and we should allow them to wreck or do whatever until an actual "victim" is hurt; then and only then, should their be police intervention. <--- Is that what you're trying to get at?

no.
not at all.

i'm not for a free for all on the public roads.

my point is, why waste the resources now after all is said and done. my point is, there are bigger fish to fry. and since it was (because it was) a victimless crime - let it go.

because, if there never was a video of it, be honest with yourself, not one finger would be lifted by the police.

however, if something would have happened to anyone - i would say the complete opposite thing as in they better catch that guy.

if there was traffic video of a guy jaywalking across the street and no one got hurt, would people be outraged and would authorities be looking to arrest him? some cars had to slam on their brakes not to hit him, some horns were honked - but would there be this outrage of it?

sure, it's illegal. it's unsafe. and hell, the jaywalker could have gotten killed, and the guy driving could have seriously gotten hurt by trying to avoid him or slamming on his brakes and someone in his car going through the windshield.

would there still be outreach of local officials to apprehend the jay walker?

Conrice.. I am on track now.. I was a little confused at first, but I have a better understanding now. And I am kind of with ya on the "search", but they(the Police Department) just can't let this go with nothing to be said or done. They are using it more of a scare tactic, so they don't give the image of "we don't care what you do on the streets." If they did, then they would lose control of the streets and it would be like Camden, NJ.
