Yeah, I agree with you. Something seems a little fishy. Although if he is a shill bidder, he blew it, cause now he has the high bid and has to pray l**u comes back.
But more likely, its just that l**u had a maximum bid of $57,000...even though the current bid was only $53,000. So every time t**r placed a bid, ebay automatically topped it with a higher bid for l**u until his maximum was reached. It just doesnt show t**r as the bidder, since hes not bidding more than the other guys maximum.

Could be shill swine...but if it is, they just outbid the field. Oops.

You could never drag me out. Of the closet, anyway. LOL
Every new bid would be the actual high bid, if there were no such thing as maximum amount bid...if you follow. Since what's his name set his maximum so high, all the other "bids" under that total can't count as "currently item-winning high bids". But the people attempting to take away his high bid, need something to go on...you can't just shoot in the dark and hope you land higher than some guy's maximum...
I'm pretty sure live auction houses don't do it this way...in those cases, you're right, every bid is the actual high bid.

The bidding history works l.ike that because that person had a max bid set, and someone bid higher than that. So when the higher bid came, the system automatically did bids up to that amount on behalf of the first bidder, until it ran out. There's nothing fishy about it, it's the way Ebay works.
