I haven't had alot of time to practice but I do having it coming up in first. Once you get it the first time it is pretty easy after that. But, when I try to slip the clutch in 2nd it seems to lurch forward pretty hard and not come up. That has me kind of sketched. Am I letting out to fast or not giving it enough throttle? My last question, is it possible to wheelie in 3rd on the 600?

Your not giving it enough throttle and it sounds like your fully engaging the clutch and having it in to long. Just bring it up to speed and then pull the clutch in a little bit and pull the throttle to a lil over half and dump the clutch out. You have to do it fast though like as soon as you hit the gas drop the clutch dont let the rpms climb so high. I have not been able to get my f4i up in 3rd and i have a slip on intake and geared -1 +2, i have tried jumping and clutching at the same time but i only get it a foot off the ground. 2nd goes to 100 why do you need to pull it up in third?

I have been pulling the clutch in all of the way. How fast do you usually go in 2nd when you wheelie?
Well, if you are in fourth and you want to wheelie, you shift down to 2nd?

Sitdowns or standups on regular roads i start at about 40 in 2nd and give about another 1/2 turn on the throttle from where the accelerating point was. My bike is geared-1 and +2 and it has a slip on and k&n. I cant do freeway wheelies though man i really dont see the point to but i can not get it up in third no matter what speed or how hard i jump or throttle it up. You can jump and clutch at the same time to pull it up at 70 in 2nd but i cant hit balance point fast enough yet to ride them that fast

My 600RR would wheelie in 2nd or 3rd. Second gear at bout 70mph, then bounce it up. 3rd gear at 100 mph. More or less you need your RPM's to be between 8000 and 9000 on the 600RR if you're not clutchin it. I went -1/+2----now i bounce my seconds at ~38mph, and my thirds at 60mph. BIG difference lol. It'll come up in fourth, but you gotta be flyin to bounce it.

I tried getting it up in second today at about 50, it wasn't happening. I have some practice to do. How long does it take to change the gearing? I want faster acceleration. My Uncle has an FZ 1 and he can kick my *** in the low end RPM's and get his bike up easier.

Slippin the clutch on a 600 is the way to go, take it slow watch your throttle control.
If your only a 150 lbs you should be able to get the front end up from the roll on, try a little more throttle.

Honestly guys...I think that vids not so good...teaching power wheelies on a 600...there are just too many things they dont bring up. I DO however applaud then for stressing to take it easy and slow.

For one they dont talk about using the rear brake...Ive seen a firm tap to the rear brake save a wheelie many times.

They dont even talk about balance point...in my eyes the point of practicing wheelies is to reach BP and ride them.

They dont talk about the HUGE difference between 600's and liter bikes.
