See, this is where guys are different from women. A guy would probably like to receive a new fancy gadget to do their chores (like a brand spanking new riding lawn mower or a power screwdriver to hang pictures).

The assumption that no thought in the gift is wrong. Where on the contrary they probably researched the crap out of it. It`s just not the right thought. Buying jewelry actually requires very little thought in comparison. (Unless you are worried about the 3 C's...but diamonds are a waste of money and just perpetuate a very brutal trade).

 

One of my partners bought me a new ironing board as a "gift" ..so I could continue to do his ironing!![:@]

Now, its different if they say oh right love you've been struggling with that old board for years, come on lets get a new one ..ok sort of fine!!



BUT

When they turn up tails wagging saying "I got ya a pressy babes!!" and its a damn ironing board ..then it all changes I am afraid!!

I'm very good at the gold/platinum/diamonds/card/flowers thing.

 

For what is worth, I have never given a vacuum cleaner as a gift.

I have given a sexy cocktail dress (right size and all), 6 drawer Lingerie cabinet. I can`t remember the other gifts I`ve given.

 

Phew!! ... there is hope for mankind yet!! ..lol
