RE: Anyone else have this much fun at work?
With Fords most mechanics have to pull the cab the get to the headgaskets. I have heard of one that does not have to pull the cab. But its a trade secret. He will not tell anyone.Blowing a headgasket on a Ford is very expensive.

Kind of gets me thinking...
We've had some time to really put these new import-trucks to the test, mileage and useability-wise. Now that trucks like the Tundra, Titan and Ridgeline have been around for a few years - anyone know how these trucks are holding up in the real world?
I know those aren't diesel but it makes me wonder nonetheless. Seems like the only thing we really make that's worth a **** anymore is work trucks and hand tools. That's too bad...

haha Jared thats how you do it huh? Our old diesel tech used to do em in the truck he used to do oil pans in the truck too hahaha. Closest thing i get to doing that is doing a transmission on a 4x4 expedition.
The new 6.4s are the same thing cab has to come off. We don't really do diesels we don't have a diesel tech but we do mostly municipalities so we wont be out of a job unless Ford stops making the P71 hahaha. We get all the high mileage rusted cars. Last yr we did a motor i think on a mass pike truck. The whole front half of the radiator (no joke now) between the radiator and i forgot what else was filled with sand/salt. We ended up poking a hole in the radiator trying to get all the salt out of there. I get cars with 171k miles that need valve seals and just today had an 06 with 110k miles already.

Ill play too hahaha another one is seeing a tailshaft housing shatter off the transmission and break the casing as well. Heres what we see a lot of during rain season.
See anything wrong?
