yea most people don't check for bikes in socal...i do but that's cause i ride as well...but fact is...most bikes split well above the 10mph difference allowed...and if that's the case...whether a driver checks or not isn't going to make much of a difference when traffic is 25 and bike is flying at 60.
the car is not always at fault...mostly, but not always.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. I stayed home from work on Tuesday to give my knee a little time to heal but went back to work on Wednesday. Walking around the knee feels a little sore but not unbearable, however, going up/down stairs is very painful. As far as riding, I really only notice it when down shifting. I managed to get the bike cleaned up pretty well. With some leftover red touch up paint from my November crash and a little black Maytag refrigerator touch up paint from work everything looks pretty good. The only noticeable damage is part of the CBR is missing on the right side and the scratches on the cases on both sides. I checked with a few of my coworkers in Mexico and apparently lane splitting is not legal in Mexico as far as they knew. However, I have seen quite a few other motorcycles doing it and a number of smaller cars. I am flying to St. Louis this weekend for the supercross so I get to see if my new titanium reinforced collar bone shows up on the airport metal detectors.
