RE: AMA bling
they had an article in one of the magazines I read (its been awhile back and who knows which one, i read way too many) about how he met some guys at a gas station while he was on his duc. they got to talking and decided he was going to field a team as a tester... evidently its working out ok cause last year he didnt have much support, but this year his guys are saying its really not that far off from a full factory ride. Suzuki is kicking in bikes I think, which im sure helps a lot.
I think its great. The more variety we can get into the sport, the bigger the chance it can blow up and maybe **crosses his fingers** one day have a larger fan base than NASCAR. Hell, ill sit by an ama track drinkin beer and yell w00000 every time they come by just kidding, respect to nascar, i just dont get it.

RE: AMA bling
IIRC Jordan was riding with his nephew in Chicago and they happened to meet Montez Stewart and became friends
Jordan and the other kid were riding in t-shirts and jeans so Montez I believe showed them what kind of gear they should be wearing and eventually MJ rented a track for Montez to show him what sportbikes are really for
The intrest grew and eventually MJ decided to start an AMA team
Montez rode for him the first year but was really struggling in AMA
they've done some pretty interesting paint schemes, this years is a lot less flashy than usual but the colors are still based on a new Jordan shoe lol
its kinda crazy that this is the first year Jordan didn't come down to the Barber races (they said he was at a charity event), its gotta suck to miss Yates' win and I think it was their first 1-2 finish also
