Question US-1? California Coastline Trip

I'm in the process of planning a trip out to California but wanted to find out if any fellow CBRforum-ers could shed a little light on what location/areas is best to stay? Have you ridden out there? any motorcycle rental places you can point me to? I heard it's a beautiful ride along the coast aka "US-1" ? Best month to go?

I want to stay in an area close to the coast so I can ride but also visit tourist attractions.

Thanks for any responses,

Will

what part of cali are you coming to? what attractions do you plan to visit? california is a big place with all kinds of weather. highway 1, pacific coast highway, is a pretty ride but long. it goes up and down almost the entire coast. there are also many other great rides out here, depending which part you're in. as far as rentals go, i dont know. i've never rented out here.

First you must decide from where you want to start riding? From south up north of from north down south...PCH is very lengthy...but I suggest start from like South Bay area Go north....Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara... I think it's seldom you will continue riding and not stop for those California Gurls!!! Sunkist Tan....LOL...

Man...now that is what you call breathtaking scene and exactly what I would like to experience out there.

Yeah your right, I thought of starting maybe at Santa Monica go up as far as Santa Barbara, CA ? or further depending on miles. Ideally I would like to stay near a place that rents motorcycles and not have to spend hours in a cab just trying to find a place.

what kind of attractions? are you bringing any kids? there is always disneyland, knotts berry farm, universal studios, six flags, legoland, sea world in san diego, and san diego zoo. there is a ton other stuff to visit not theme park if you are looking for that too.

for sure ride angeles crest... better than pch for sportbikes

Yes, this pic was actually taken on a misty day...on a clear day when to ocean is blue...more breathtaking...right below to the left side is Donald Trump golf course...green fee is $179... Lol...

Rancho Palos Verdes + PV Estate is good start point...Palos Verdes Drive going north then left onto PCH will take you thru Redondo beach, manhattan beach, LAX, then Santa Monica / pier. 10 minutes later Malibu ( where Billy Cyrus live & all those movie star ) from Malibu you can easily go inland to Sunset Strip, 90210, Rodeo Drive... Or you can stay on PCH go towards Santa Barbara.... Depend what is your crowd? Night life....LA does have a little of everything. From
Universal Studio, J-Town, Beverly Hills, Hollywood walk of fame...I actually live 1 block south of PCH (US-1)....1 block away from Cycle Gear of South Bay...
